🕉️ HINDU JATS
- Found mainly in Haryana, Rajasthan, Western UP, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh.
- Follow Sanatan Dharma and worship family & regional deities.
- Temples and Devtas (Deities) common among them:
- Baba Khatushyam Ji (Krishna form)
- Balaji / Hanuman Ji
- Gugga Pir
- Devi Mata (Durga, Sheetla Mata)
- Strong tradition of Gotra, Kuldevi, and clan customs.
- Famous Hindu Jat leaders:
- Raja Surajmal of Bharatpur
- Maharaja Ganga Singh of Bikaner
- Chaudhary Charan Singh (former PM of India)
⚔️ SIKH JATS
- Mostly in Punjab, and some in Haryana (Ambala, Sirsa).
- Core part of Khalsa Panth; majority of Sikh farmers are Jats.
- Known for martial heritage — many served in Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s Empire and British Indian Army.
- Prominent Sikh Jat clans: Gill, Dhillon, Sidhu, Sandhu, Brar, Mann, Bajwa, Virk, Pannu, Tiwana.
- Famous Sikh Jat personalities:
- Maharaja Ranjit Singh (Sandhawalia / Sukerchakia)
- Bhai Maharaj Singh
- Bhai Randhir Singh

☪️ MUSLIM JATS
- Predominantly in Pakistan Punjab, Sindh, and some in Western UP (India).
- Converted gradually between 12th–17th centuries.
- Retained Jat gotra identity and culture — only changed faith.
- Common Muslim Jat clans: Cheema, Warraich, Gondal, Tarar, Chattha, Noon, Tiwana, Virk, Bajwa, Khokhar, Ranjha.
- Prominent Muslim Jats:
- Sir Khizar Hayat Tiwana (Premier of Punjab under British rule)
- Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi
- Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain
- Imran Khan (Niazi clan of Pashtun-Jat mix)
✝️ CHRISTIAN JATS (Minority)
- Small groups in Pakistani Punjab and Indian Punjab, converted during British period.
- Continue using their original Jat surnames and maintain rural community life.
☸️ BUDDHIST JATS (Very Rare)
- Only a handful, mostly converted under Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s movement (especially in Maharashtra).
- Culturally remain similar to Hindu Jats.
